During a weekend trip in 1994, Alan & myself were inspired by a Café we visited in Ross-on-Wye that served vegetarian food. We spoke on our experience and thought there may be a requirement for similar back home in Newton Abbot. and explored the opportunity for such.

Following our lovely trip, we returned home with our ideas and excitely discussed with family and friends. Like a seed sprouting, our idea grew into a journey of exploring possibilites and opportunities. 15 months later, after much research and planning, The Country Table Café was born in March 1996.

With a true passion for great traditional food, affordably priced, our Café fastly became a family favourite business. We follow our vision with traditional homemade recipes, using fresh quality ingredients from local producers and suppliers.
